Game Description
Magnetaria is a platformer where you are a character with a magnetic power suit. The main mechanic is to switch between your red and blue state.
Just like magnets, opposites attract and same colors repel, so you can interact with things in the environment that have red or blue colors and depending on your state you will either pull yourself towards the object or repel yourself from it.

Launch Pads
One of our core pillars was momentum. So the first level mechanic we added was these launch pads which the player can launch themselves from by being powered by the opposite color.
The force from these launch pads would add to your velocity, making you keep your momentum and may launch you even further.
Sometimes you are required to have a certain momentum to be able to launch yourself with enough distance to make progress.

Spikes
We also wanted surfaces that would be dangerous, so we added spikes since that is something that can easily be identified as danger.
But to keep with the theme of magnets, we made them either red or blue and would only come out and be of any danger if you were being powered by the opposite color. So these magnetic spikes would be repelled back if you are powered by the same color, and would then make it safe to touch that surface.

Enemy Design
The enemies have very simple behavior. They shoot projectiles of red or blue color at the player which the player could repel with the same color. You can even kill the enemy by repelling and hitting them with their own projectile.
Some enemies stand still and wait for the player. Others wander back and forth and will stop and fire projectiles if they spot the player.
